“We’ve taken a lot of really tough trips” – Chase Elliott opens up about his bromance with Ryan Blaney

Hendrick Motorsports ace Chase Elliott recently announced his close relationship with current NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney. Blaney and Elliott have shared the NASCAR stage on several occasions.

2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott comes from the legendary NASCAR team, Hendrick Motorsports, and has established himself as one of the best drivers in the world. The 28-year-old second-generation racing master has already won several awards and continues to be one of the most popular drivers on the circuit. Off the track, Elliott maintains close ties with many of his colleagues in the motorsports community. One person especially close to the 28-year-old driver’s heart is Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney.

Like Chase Elliott, Blaney joined the ranks of Team Penske, NASCAR’s top team. Ryan Blaney has shown great potential throughout his career and reached the pinnacle of the sports world last season with his first NASCAR Cup Series victory. When he celebrated his historic victory with his fiancée (then-girlfriend) Gianna Tullio, it was none other than Elliott who congratulated Ryan Blaney, despite his own tumultuous season.

Recently, Chase Elliott detailed his close bond with Ryan Blaney in a conversation with journalist Kyle Dalton. Elliott had this to say: “I’ve known Ryan for a long time. I’ve known him since we were kids growing up at the track. His dad and my dad raced at the same time. So we’ve always had that kind of relationship. And ultimately, we ended up with a very good relationship, having come down similar paths to coming here.

“We spent a lot of our younger years racing on the same tracks driving the same cars. I think we grew closer because we spent more time together during that time. When you travel a lot, it’s nice to have company. He was definitely that guy for me. It just so happened that our paths crossed.

“We’ve taken a lot of really cool trips,” he added.

Chase Elliott expresses gratitude for his and Ryan Blaney’s career together

Elliott and Blaney’s paths have indeed crossed in many significant ways, with both drivers overcoming challenges and triumphs in their professional racing careers. Chase Elliott expressed his gratitude for both of their journeys, saying:

“I think it’s even more amazing that we were both fortunate enough to achieve our dreams and make it our own. “For both of us, if our careers were over tomorrow, we would have already lived most of our dreams. I think that’s really amazing. It’s not something you see every day with people that you’re close to and you respect.”

After 19 races, Chase Elliott is currently sitting second in the NASCAR Cup Series standings with 644 points, while Ryan Blaney is in eighth place with 560 points.
