WEDDING ANNIVERSARY: NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr and wife Amy Earnhardt’s 8th years Anniversary

ASCAR Hall of Famers Amy Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have been married for over seven years. The longtime couple tied the knot in a lavish celebration at Childress Vineyards in North Carolina on New Year’s Eve 2016. Amy Lyman and Earnhardt Jr. began dating in 2009. The two-time Daytona 500 winner proposed to Amy in 2015 while vacationing in Germany after dating for about six years. After getting engaged just over a year ago, Earnhardt Jr. and Amy decided to continue their relationship and set their wedding date for New Year’s Eve 2016.

Race car driver and team owner Richard Childress was managing the facility where the big party was being held in Lexington. Earnhardt Jr. and Amy exchanged vows to become Mr. and Mrs. Earnhardt Jr. in front of more than 100 guests. Dale Earnhardt Jr. posted a short video of the wedding to his Instagram feed with the caption: “What a match! We look forward to the rest of our lives together.” @rsamyearnhardt. Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced his retirement from the NASCAR Cup Series one year after their wedding.

Since then, the couple has been busy running various businesses outside of JR Motorsports. The two talked about how funny Dale Jr.’s encounter with a swarm of hornets was.

Earnhardt Jr. was inspecting a heater near his backyard pool. When he removed the pool cover, he accidentally disturbed a hornet’s nest. This sudden movement caused the retired NASCAR driver to be attacked by a swarm of about 25 hornets. While Earnhardt Jr.’s lightning-fast reflexes helped him evade the attackers, Amy laughed when she saw what happened next. The North Carolina racer screamed and threw his hands in the air as he fled the scene out of pure survival instinct.

Amy recalled Earnhardt Jr. explaining the scenario to her after he missed the entire incident. “I was pissed that I missed it. I was like, wait a second, what did I do?
