“Things could change” – Kyle Larson & Rick Hendrick remain tight-lipped over another Indy 500-Coke 600 Double attempt 

Kyle larson said after winning the brickyard 400 that he would love to return to the track in may next year. Larson completed the double of indy 500 and coke 600 earlier this season. Despite a promising start to the season, his run in the arrow mclaren single seater ended in an 18th-place finish. Larson said he’d love to run the 500 again after winning his fourth cup race of the season and is hopeful that something will be announced soon. Kyle larson was confronted with this problem during his post-race pres soon.

This was something Kyle Larson was confronted with in his post-race press conference when a journalist asked the #5 driver if there would be any hurdles in his second Indy 500 run.

“I don’t know. I mean, we definitely have been talking about it. I think weighing what’s important to everybody. It sounds good, I’ll say, so far, but things could change. Yeah, we’ll see. I would obviously love to do it. I think everybody knows I would love to do it because in my mind I did not get to do it this year. I didn’t get to at least do the double,” Larson said. [16:10]

Larson hoped for the pieces to fall into place so he could hopefully do another Double attempt in 2025.

Following this response, the Hendrick Motorsports driver was asked whether having the good fortune of winning the Brickyard 400 gave him faith to have a better Indy 500 next season.

Kyle larson said that with the introduction of hybrid cars in 2025, teams will have more opportunities to be more efficient. Kyle larson explained why winning the crown jewel meant a little bit more to him this year after winning his first brickyard 400. Larson said his victory meant more, given how his double attempt took place in may, at indianapolis motor speedway in a car with the coca-cola 600 tan paint scheme.

“i think just by competing in the indy 500, then having the weather kind of get in the way and not being able to compete in the 600, then coming here and running the same paint scheme as i was supposed to run at the 600, we’ll all win in the same way,” larson said. 1:05 it’s worth mentioning that larson’s victory was secured by a caution brought out by kyle busch and then a race-ending caution brought out by ryan preece.
