NASCAR driver Corey LaJoie had some fun rating fellow drivers in Olympic sports by naming 2023 championship driver Ryan Blaney the winner in gymnastics. In an interview on the racing organization’s eponymous X/Twitter page, LaJoie and other NASCAR drivers were asked to rate drivers in various sports.
When asked who would be first, second and third in gymnastics, LaJoie picked Blaney as his No. 1 pick. He added:
“RYB (Ryan Blaney) is a spider monkey, bro. I mean, he’s like a ninja warrior, Simone Biles, whatever you want to call him.”

In an interview with The Athletic published on July 24, Ryan Blaney spoke about a variety of topics, including his upcoming wedding, his views on NASCAR and other personal matters. When asked how much NASCAR media coverage he consumes, he replied: “A lot. I try to stay up to date. I don’t pay much attention to (X), but I get my news from there. Of course, I watch a lot of NASCAR news, because that’s what I follow.
But just in terms of news in general, I go to (X) and ask, ‘What in the world is going on?’ But I don’t believe half of what I see there anyway.” “But it’s rare that someone in the media asks me, ‘Have you seen this? What do you think?’ and I don’t know anything about it. It’s pretty unusual.
So, I feel like I’m in pretty good shape.” “I keep things on track and I have a great team that keeps me updated in case I miss any important news. Just because you’re in the middle of it, it takes over your life.” Ryan Blaney currently drives the No. 12 Ford Mustang for Team Penske. He is fifth in the Cup Series standings with two wins and 676 points, and has seven top-five finishes and 11 top-10 finishes so far in the 2024 season.
