Kyle Petty rips Richard Childress Racing for disappearance of Kyle Busch, while Kyle Larson rises

Kyle Petty was excited about his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Iowa Speedway, but he can’t get Kyle Busch’s performance out of his head.

In an interesting comparison, Petty compared Busch’s move from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing to Kyle Larson’s move from Chip Ganassi Racing to Hendrick Motorsports earlier in his career.

Apparently Petty believes that the team you play for has as much impact on where you stand as the talent of the driver.

The NASCAR analyst believes that Richard Childress Racing hasn’t done Busch any favors since he joined the team and that something needs to change before it’s too late for the partnership, and Iowa is an example of that, so why rush it.

“If you build it, they will come. It might take 19 or 20 years, but if you build a race track, eventually NASCAR will come.

Newton, Iowa. What a great race. It was a lot of fun. I was pleasantly surprised. I saw a lot of passing attempts at the back of the field. I saw some overtaking moves to get to the front. It was competitive from start to finish, the way a NASCAR race should be.

That’s all you can ask for as a fan. It was competitive for everybody except Kyle Busch. Where’s Kyle Busch? “I have no idea,” Petty asked the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.

“He started pretty strong last season, so I thought, ‘That’s pretty good.’ And they said, ‘If we move from Gibbs to Childress, this organization is going to be a winner,’ and they’re gone.

He and Austin Dillon have stayed quiet, and that’s a reflection of the organization. Richard Childress Racing, RCR.

“I say this now because I’m going to put Kyle Larson in the same position. Kyle Larson has six wins with Chip Ganassi.

Rick Hendrick has 20 wins so far in 2021. It took Chip Ganassi to stop Kyle Larson from winning. This organization made Kyle Larson a better winner.

This organization turned Kyle Busch from a driver who was competitive and could win into a driver who was only fighting for 8th, 9th and 10th place. He has only five top 10s this year and two top fives. He’s only started five times in his entire career, five times in 19 or 20 years.

He didn’t win his first 11 races. Now he can’t win. People say it’s down to luck, but Kyle Busch also said it’s down to luck at RCR Racing.” It’s natural for Kyle Petty to wonder what’s going on with Kyle Busch at Richard Childress Racing, which makes for an interesting comparison with Kyle Larson and his move to Hendrick Motorsports.

Only time will tell, but the clock is ticking for Busch and RCR to figure out what’s missing from the team and make things right.
