Kyle Larson discusses his viral post of Chase Elliott joining Joe Gibbs Racing

On Friday afternoon, Christopher Bell announced that “Chase” would be moving to Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025 to replace Martin Truex Jr. Bell spoke about Chase Briscoe, but Kyle Larson had a better idea.

Larson went to X and, despite the surprise, wished Chase Elliott the best in his “new adventure with Joe Gibbs Racing.” Larson ended his post with “Good luck #d19.”

The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion was asked about his post about Elliott on Saturday and joked.

Larson started laughing and talked about his contributions and Bell’s gaffe at the press conference. “I was really proud of [Chase Elliott’s contribution],” Larson said. “I typed it so fast, I couldn’t wait to get it out.

I texted [Christopher Bell] and [Chase Briscoe], and I think they were laughing out loud before I even sent the tweet. It was so funny.

I mean, I think that’s the best way to announce that someone is coming to the team.” “I’m sure the PR department planned this extravagant, very professional thing.

“When we finally announce it, we’re going to get a lot more clicks… I’m sure [Bell] will be a lot more well-known now. So yeah, I think we can count on it going forward.”

Larson and Elliott are still teammates, but that doesn’t mean they’re without excitement. The No. 5 driver now looks forward to this weekend’s USA TODAY 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Ironically, Larson-Elliott is chasing the Cup Series points lead after crashing at Iowa Speedway last Sunday.
