Jeff Gordon stumbles in Chase Elliott’s guess Over Hilarious Challenge

NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon recently participated in a “Guess the Tweet” challenge along with other Hendrick Motorsports drivers. Gordon tried to identify Chase Elliott’s tweet and gave a hilarious response.

Four-time Cup Series champion and Vice Chairman of Hendrick Motorsports Jeff Gordon appeared with Alex Bowman, William Byron and Chase Elliott in a video posted to Instagram by Hendrick Motorsports.

The challenge asked HMS members to identify the driver behind tweets posted on X (formerly Twitter). Here’s the tweet Jeff Gordon had to guess:

“It depends. I like to sleep in to go to school but have no problem waking up for a race.

The 52-year-old made several attempts to guess the user behind the tweet but was ultimately unable to. He said:

“Well, it’s William Byron who was at school recently, I think it must be him, right? Btw, why post this? I don’t care who it is. Kyle Larson?”

The tweet was dated November 10, 2011. Given the date of the tweet, Gordon correctly guessed that it was about one of the most senior riders on the current HMS team.

As it turns out, it was 2020 Cup Series champion Elliott who wrote the tweet.

Strictly speaking, Chase Elliott is the oldest on the team in terms of time driven at Hendrick Motorsports, not age.

Elliott, who currently drives the No. 9 car, made his full-time Cup Series debut with HMS in 2016, replacing Jeff Gordon in the No. 24 Chevrolet. “Yes, I was going to say you must be our oldest driver.

I should have said that too. “Sorry, Chase, you’re our oldest driver,” Gordon said.

“A Chance to Win” – Chase Elliott at Sonoma Weekend

After ending his winning streak at Texas Motor Speedway at 42, the 28-year-old Elliott plans to end it again at the raceway’s next-gen road course. In an interview with Phil Allaway on The Frontstretch, “the most popular driver” Elliott shared his thoughts on Nestgenker’s win on the newly repaved surface of Sonoma’s road course.

Yeah, I’d like to think I have a chance to go out there and win. “It’s basically a new track for all but the three drivers who have tested,” said Elliott (0:11). Ross Chastain, Josh Berry and Martin Truex Jr. each represented a different manufacturer and tested Goodyear tires earlier this season.

Currently, Chevrolet No. 9 driver Chase Elliott sits third in the Cup Series overall standings.

So far in the 2024 season, he has recorded one win, five top-five and seven top-10 finishes.
