It’s because he’s a part-time driver so i will never take that: Chase Elliott Throw Shot On Jimmie Johnson’s

I will never accept this because he is a part-time driver: Chase Elliott denies Jimmie Johnson’s request

Currently, in NASCAR races, Cup drivers are given 20 minutes of practice time before qualifying, except on certain weekends. Johnson has advocated increasing this time to 40-45 minutes, believing it will give drivers a better understanding of the car and allow teams to make the necessary adjustments. However, his former teammate Chase Elliott has a different opinion on the matter.

Speaking to the media in Texas, Elliott expressed his belief that drivers already have enough training time. He suggested that Johnson’s desire for further training was due to his limited racing appearances this season, like other part-time drivers. Elliott suggested that Johnson did not have enough opportunity to get used to the car, leading to his desire for more practice time.

Before the Cup game at Texas, Johnson revealed the reason for his struggles in the Cup Series. He emphasized that his current car no longer allows him to effectively use the right rear wheel, his signature racing style. Due to aerodynamics and tire changes, Johnson now relies on his right front wheel to steer. Fortunately, Johnson’s new approach to driving next-generation cars is showing promising results. This was his personal best finish since joining Legacy Motor Club, and he was able to complete the race on the lead lap for the first time in this era. Johnson hopes to maintain this positive momentum and convince NASCAR to introduce changes that will give part-time drivers more training time.
