He had two more podium finishes at the Advent Health 400 in Kansas and the Cookout 400 in Martinsville, in both races he finished third. The American recently took part in the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Speedway, finishing 12th.

The No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 driven by Chase Elliott swapped out its usual blue and yellow paint scheme to commemorate TEC 5 Clifford Strickland, who died as a prisoner of war during World War II.

It features a smooth matte all-black look. This Memorial Day weekend move by Hendrick Motorsports and its longtime partner NAPA Auto Parts honors members of the United States military, past and present.
