FDNY Racing finally give a shocking respond to Corey Lajoie’s future with the team for the 2025 nascar season

FDNY Racing has firmly shut down the rumors that Corey LaJoie will be joining their team for the 2025 NASCAR season. In response to a report from Essentially Sports, FDNY Racing took to X to clarify the situation. They posted a GIF of Randy Jackson saying, “Yeah, that’s gonna be a no for me dawg,” with the caption “Nice try though.” This was meant to assure fans and followers that LaJoie will not be driving the No. 28 truck next season.

FDNY Racing competes in the NASCAR Truck Series, with Bryan Dauzat currently behind the wheel of the No. 28 Chevrolet Silverado. The team participates in the Truck Series on a part-time basis, so having LaJoie compete for FDNY Racing would have been an unexpected move. The speculation arose following LaJoie’s comments about his future in NASCAR, after announcing his departure from Spire Motorsports at the end of the 2024 Cup Series season.

During an episode of the “Stacking Pennies” podcast, LaJoie reflected on his career and the uncertainties ahead. He expressed gratitude for his financial stability and career achievements, saying, “I am super appreciative of where I’m at in life financially with my career. It went way different than I ever expected it. Also, it’s never been easy. My entire NASCAR career has not went how I thought it was going to go. So why would I expect anything different, right? Every single plan that I thought I was going to make, it went differently.”

LaJoie also mentioned a Bible verse that has guided him, Proverbs 16:9, which states, “The man can plan his path, but the Lord determines his steps.” He shared that this verse has been pinned to his X profile for nearly a decade, and it resonates with his current situation as he faces an uncertain future. “I don’t know what the next step is,” he admitted.

Despite the challenges and uncertainties, LaJoie had hoped to continue with Spire Motorsports, especially with the addition of Rodney Childers as the crew chief for the No. 7 car. LaJoie expressed his disappointment in not being able to see the team’s potential realized. He acknowledged his own mistakes, saying, “I do hate that we weren’t able to see it through; we weren’t able to kind of adjust the [No.] 7 team and kind of turn the right knobs to get performance where we needed it. Also, I made too many mistakes behind the wheel this year. There were several that took us out of contention for some good results,” as reported by NASCAR.com.

LaJoie, 32, has yet to win a race in NASCAR’s National Series. This season, he has only one top-10 finish, which he achieved at the start of the year during the Daytona 500. Throughout his Cup Series career, LaJoie’s best finish in the final standings has been 25th. His career trajectory has not followed the path he envisioned, and he continues to navigate the challenges of the sport.

The rumors about LaJoie joining FDNY Racing were part of the speculation surrounding his next move after leaving Spire Motorsports. FDNY Racing’s public denial of these rumors underscores the unpredictability of NASCAR career paths and the various factors that influence driver-team relationships. As LaJoie contemplates his next steps, the NASCAR community watches with interest to see where his journey will lead him.
