“Dale Earnhardt Jr. Raises Alarming Questions About Corey LaJoie’s Uncertain Future in NASCAR”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently discussed Corey LaJoie’s uncertain future in NASCAR for 2025 after Spire Motorsports announced they would let LaJoie go at the end of the current season. This development has cast doubt on the #7 driver’s career prospects in the sport.

On his show, The Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt Jr. expressed his concerns about LaJoie’s future and offered some advice. “Corey LaJoie is out at Spire. Corey mentioned this on his podcast. I wonder where he will end up. His options must be pretty limited. I think he has some financial backing,” Earnhardt said.

He suggested that LaJoie should focus on securing opportunities to win races, even if it means earning less money. “If I were him, I would try to put myself in positions where I could win races. You may have to make less money. Your base salary might be lower. That might be tough, and I’m not sure about his financial situation, but being happy and enjoying what you’re doing, celebrating some wins, is worth it,” Earnhardt Jr. added.

He also recommended that LaJoie consider following John Hunter Nemechek’s example by returning to the lower tiers of NASCAR to rebuild his reputation and prove his capabilities.

Despite the announcement, Corey LaJoie remains determined to secure Spire Motorsports’ first win. Speaking on his podcast, LaJoie reflected on his NASCAR career, acknowledging that it hasn’t gone as planned and expressing uncertainty about his future.

“There’s that proverb, 16:9, it’s been pinned to my Twitter or my X profile for almost 10 years now – The Lord determines well, the man can plan his path but the Lord determines his steps, and that really is. I don’t know what the next step is,” LaJoie said. He expressed disappointment in not reaching the #7 team’s full potential, admitting to making too many mistakes this season that affected his results.

Despite these challenges, LaJoie remains motivated to achieve Spire Motorsports’ first Cup-level win in the remaining races of the season. This season, aside from a fourth-place finish in the Daytona 500, LaJoie has not finished in the top 10 and has managed seven finishes inside the top 20.
