Corey LaJoie is SEVERELY affected by his departure”: Corey LaJoie keep struggling hard after recent Spire Motorsports announcement

In the latest episode of his podcast, “Stacking Pennies,” Corey LaJoie spoke about the recent news that he will be leaving Spire Motorsports after the current NASCAR Cup Series season. Despite the rollercoaster of emotions that this announcement brings, LaJoie remains focused and optimistic about his future in NASCAR.

Corey LaJoie, who has been with Spire Motorsports since the 2021 season, announced last week that he will not be returning to the No. 7 Chevrolet in 2025. Reflecting on his departure from Spire Motorsports, the 32-year-old spoke about the range of emotions he has experienced. He also thanked the team owners (Jeff Dickerson and T.J. Putcher) for the support and trust he has received throughout his career.

On the Stacking Pennies podcast, LaJoie said, “You go through all kinds of emotions. Angry. Sad. It’s a natural human tendency to fall into victim mentality, to see yourself as someone else. But now, a week later, I feel so grateful. I’m so grateful to Jeff and T.J. And I’m so grateful to Spire for giving me an opportunity and believing in me from the beginning, when we were just trying to get this thing on a whiteboard.” And what we did with it was pretty awesome [2:31].

The 32-year-old from North Carolina has played a key role in the team’s development and success, achieving four top-five and top-10 finishes during his time with the team.

“They didn’t really give me a whole lot of reasons”: Corey LaJoie on losing his NASCAR seat

The announcement came as a shock to everyone, as the team had signed LaJoie to a multi-year contract extension last year and was considering using veteran crew chief Rodney Childers in the No. 7 Chevrolet through the 2025 season. During the aforementioned podcast, LaJoie revealed that he didn’t have a very clear understanding of why he wouldn’t be called up next season. “I was let go on Wednesday.

They didn’t give me a lot of details on why, but I don’t want to get into too much detail,” LaJoie said. Corey LaJoie has raced for a variety of teams in the Cup Series, but has never been under contract with any team for more than a season or two. LaJoie had this to say about his career and the nature of his contract: “It’s come to some realizations. I’ve never normally been in this position. Everywhere I’ve gone before, I’ve always been on a one-year contract. So it’s not an uncomfortable situation for me to be in. It’s nothing I haven’t been in before.”

With four races remaining in the regular season, Corey LaJoie sits below the playoff cutoff line and 28th in the Cup Series points standings. He is still waiting for the first NASCAR victory of his nine-year career..
