Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were embroiled in a Red Bull war on social media during the team challenge.

The pair were teammates at Red Bull when the Dutchman joined the team from 2016 to 2018, and were initially an equal pair.

What happened to Daniel Ricciardo?

Since linking up with Red Bull, the two drivers have taken two completely different career paths. Verstappen has won three consecutive world titles with Red Bull and led one of the most dominant eras in F1 history.

Meanwhile, Ricciardo has bounced around between teams, had issues with Lando Norris at McLaren and failed to get a seat for 2023. However, Ricciardo returned to the Red Bull family after being announced as a third driver, before returning full-time to AlphaTauri, now RB.

The Australian’s problems are not far behind him as his performance with RB has again declined. Ricciardo performed better than his teammate Tsunoda throughout the 2024 season, with the Japanese driver regularly qualifying in Q3 and scoring points.

Recently, the rivalry between Ricciardo and Verstappen was rekindled during a social media raft-building contest involving all Red Bull drivers during the Monaco Grand Prix. All four Red Bull and RB drivers competed against each other by driving miniature versions of themselves inside the pool at the Red Bull Energy Station in Monaco.

In a very light-hearted contest, chaos reigned as expected, with Verstappen and Tsunoda blaming each other for the makeshift raft going wrong.

Red Bull OFFICIALLY sign Verstappen team-mate for next two seasons

F1 giants Red Bull have confirmed that Sergio Pérez will remain as a driver after signing a new contract.

The Milton Keynes-based team has been the subject of numerous discussions over driver contracts, with Carlos Sainz rumoured to be keen to return.

However, Pérez’s strong start to the season, with four podium finishes, has confirmed his future with the world champions for the 2025 and 2026 seasons with a two-year extension. Since signing with the leader in 2021, Pérez has won five races for Red Bull and finished second to teammate Max Verstappen in the 2023 drivers’ championship, but has failed to beat the Dutchman in any of their three seasons together. Other.

Red Bull’s 2025 driver lineup

Perez’s previous contract meant the Mexican driver would leave Red Bull at the end of the 2024 season, but a disappointing 2023 campaign made that seem like a certainty. Despite driving what team principal Christian Horner described as “the most successful car in F1 history” in 2023, the 34-year-old has not won a race in over a year.

However, his performance has seemed to improve this season, finishing second to Verstappen in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Japan, as well as a podium at the Chinese Grand Prix. Despite a disappointing performance in qualifying, the Mexican has performed well enough to remain Verstappen’s teammate under the sport’s new rules for 2026.
