The Baltimore Ravens have decided to use another top-100 pick at cornerback in the 2024 NFL Draft. They used the 93rd overall pick to select Penn State edge rusher Addis Isaac. Isaac, a 6-4, 254-pound senior, has been a very productive tight end for a very good Nittany Lions defense.
Prior to selecting Isaac, the Ravens took Clemson guard Nate Wiggins with the 30th pick in the first round and Washington right tackle Roger Rosengarten with the 62nd pick in the second round. Isaac will be a welcome guest in Baltimore.
Jadeveon Clowney departed in the offseason, leaving the Ravens to build a group led by veteran Kyle Van Noy, frequently injured David Odjagbo and former fourth-year first-rounder Odafe Oweh. I needed a different name, and Isaac fit the bill.

In much the same way Rosengarten was overshadowed by Troy Fautanu, Isaac wasn’t as hyped as teammate Chop Robinson, who went No. 21 overall to the Dolphins. Those who passed him up missed one of the most fiery, consistent pass rushers the middle rounds of this draft had to offer.
Isaac, who piled up 11.5 sacks in the last two seasons, was a team captain in college who plays every down like it will be his last. With quality burst off the snap, a slid toolbox of pass rush moves, and some of the best situational awareness of any rusher in this class, Isaac should have no trouble becoming a productive player.
Isaac won’t defend the run like Clowney, but he can help replicate his pass rush while giving Oweh and Ojabo a much-needed backup. Isaac can become a terrific situational pass rusher as a rookie while eventually growing into a more expansive role as his career matures.
The Ravens managed to come out of the first two days draft with a Top-20 cornerback at No. 30 overall, a possible starter at right tackle in the second round, and a player that very few (if any) thought would be available at No. 93 overall. Eric DeCosta is riding high with tons of momentum heading into Day 3.
