ESPN Analyst Identify 3 Players Including Justin Fields The Cowboys Could Trade for After Tony Pollard’s Exit

It didn’t take long for the Las Vegas Raiders to erode the Chicago Bears’ power with a potential trade for Justin Fields. The Bears were already having a difficult day in the trade department when it was announced that the Atlanta Falcons had reached an agreement to acquire Kirk Cousins.

The Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders negotiated. The Athletic’s Vic Tafur and Deanna Russini reported that the Bears have resumed talks about potentially signing Fields. According to reports, it looked like great news for Chicago. But minutes after the Raiders’ negotiations with the Bears for Fields became public, they switched to the quarterback position.

Gardner Minshew signed with the Raiders. The Raiders will sign journeyman QB Gardner Minshew to a two-year, $25 million contract, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Minshew had a great performance in 2023. In 2023, Minshew excelled in his role as a backup for the Indianapolis Colts.

After Anthony Richardson was injured early in the season, Minshew came close to leading the rebuilding Colts to the playoffs in the competitive AFC. Minshew completed 305 of 490 passes for 3,305 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

Minshew’s statistics were good enough to earn him a spot in his first Pro Bowl. Based on that performance, Minshew is expected to replace current quarterback Aidan O’Connell as the Raiders’ starting quarterback this fall. The Raiders are also expected to try to select a quarterback in the first round. After trading Minshew, the Bears won’t be able to convince the Raiders to give up their top pick for Fields.
