Could Dak Prescott leave Cowboys? NFL analyst proposes wild theory for $160,000,000 QB to join AFC team

Dak Prescott is a modern-day Dallas Cowboys icon, and the Mississippi State University product has passionately represented America’s team throughout his NFL career. Originally drafted as a backup, Prescott quickly took over as Tony Romo’s franchise quarterback and won the 2016 Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. Prescott has remained a starter ever since and was a solid QB despite the team taking a chalk job late in the season. There are rumors that this could be Prescott’s last season in Dallas ahead of the 2024 season, and FS1’s Nick Wright has an interesting theory about where he might land next.

Dak Prescott to New England Patriots

According to Wright, Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots, the huge amount of cap space available in 2025 could be the biggest domino in signing Prescott to the franchise. Mr Wright said in his First Things First speech:

The veteran NFL analyst added:

Dak Prescott has enjoyed a solid NFL career to this point

Dak Prescott may not have led Jerry Jones’ teams to a Super Bowl or great postseason success, but it’s unfair to say the former fourth-round pick hasn’t had a solid career in the NFL. That would be fair. Prescott has won numerous awards, and he is proud to own several Dallas Cowboys franchise records. Prescott’s accolades include Offensive Rookie of the Year, second-team All-Pro selection, three Pro Bowl selections, 2023 NFL Passing Touchdown Leader Award, and career statistics of 29,459 passing yards, TDs, and more.

He has 202 knockdowns and 74 interceptions. Additionally, Prescott holds his NFL records for highest passer rating by a rookie and highest completion percentage by a rookie. He also holds the record for most wins in a season by a rookie quarterback, with 13 wins in the 2016 season.
