BREAKING: Free Agent Ezekiel Turner Adds To Star-Studded San Francisco 49ers Roster, Agrees To One-Year Deal

Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers continue to strengthen one of the most talented rosters in the NFL with the addition of Ezekiel Turner to the Bay Area team. The versatile linebacker has agreed to a one-year deal and is scheduled to make $1.3 million in 2024, sources said.

Turner was a standout defensive back and special teams player for the Washington Huskies from 2015 to 2017, but was overlooked by NFL teams and went undrafted in 2018.

The Arizona Cardinals took a chance on the 6-foot-2 utility man, and the decision paid off for the organization. Last season, Turner appeared in 20 games and recorded 16 tackles. He was also frequently deployed as a member of special forces. He spent a total of six seasons at Arizona, recording 83 tackles in 80 games.

The free agent had multiple teams interested, but joining the 49ers seemed like a good decision for both parties. At just 27 years old, Turner will have a chance to establish himself as a part of Nick Sorensen’s new defense.

The San Francisco 49ers will once again start the NFL season as favorites to win the NFC. The team has some notable stars returning on offense and defense, including Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Nick Bosa and George Kittle. The club has set the standard for the conference, reaching the NFC Championship Game in four of the past five seasons and earning two Super Bowl appearances.
