New parents Bubba and Amanda Wallace had an eventful weekend, but for very different reasons. While Bubba took to the track for his first race since becoming a father, Amanda shared a charming update on Instagram of their newborn, Becks Hayden, as the race unfolded. Competing at the high-stakes YellaWood 500, Bubba fought his way to a top-ten finish, but back at home, their son had a more peaceful experience during the race.
In an adorable moment, Amanda posted a photo of Becks sleeping soundly with the race playing in the background. Despite the intensity of the action on the track, where Bubba was in the thick of a four-wide battle, their baby was completely unfazed. Amanda humorously captioned the post, “Not sure how Becks is sleeping when they are 4-wide and @bubbawallace is riding middle.” The contrast between the chaos on the track and the calm at home made for a touching moment that fans couldn’t help but enjoy.
On the track, Bubba Wallace had a solid performance at NASCAR’s longest track. After starting in 26th position, he steadily worked his way up, finishing stage 1 in 22nd place. By stage 2, Wallace had broken into the top ten, finishing in P7 and earning valuable points. In the final laps, the race took a dramatic turn when a massive 28-car wreck occurred, but Wallace skillfully avoided major damage. He managed to hold his position and secured a ninth-place finish, leading three laps during the race and adding another top-ten result to his season.
While Bubba’s performance was impressive, his recent experiences as a new father are clearly his biggest source of joy. Before the race, Wallace spoke about how becoming a father has shifted his perspective. He shared how much he’s enjoying the time with his newborn, from sleepless nights to mastering diaper changes. “I’ve had a smile on my face,” Wallace said. “We’ve been learning what not to do, but it’s been a blessing.”
Despite not making the 2024 playoffs, Bubba Wallace remains focused both on the track and at home. His top-ten finish at Talladega shows he’s still a strong competitor, and his growing family gives him even more motivation as the season progresses.
