Freddie Kraft, spotter for NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, recently shared a heartfelt farewell message on social media for his podcast partner, Brett Griffin. Outside their racetrack roles, Kraft and Griffin also shared the spotlight on the “Door Bumper Clear” podcast produced by Dirty Mo Media.
Brett Griffin, known for his time as a spotter for retired Cup Series drivers Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton, announced his departure from the show in a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he shared the latest episode of the podcast. Griffin expressed appreciation for the listeners, emphasizing his aim to share insights from his career. He wrote, “Thank you, listeners. It’s been a wonderful journey. My goal was simple – to share my knowledge and experiences. Together, we laughed, learned, and made great memories. Episode 355 was my last.”
Kraft, in response, reposted Griffin’s message, offering a fond goodbye. He hinted that if “Door Bumper Clear” continues, it won’t be the same without Griffin. Kraft expressed, “I’m truly going to miss the laughter and arguments with one of my best friends every Monday morning. If DBC continues, it won’t feel the same without Brett. Thanks for bringing me along, Playa. Holla.”
On the racetrack, Bubba Wallace faced challenges this season, missing the playoffs despite a strong record the previous year. The Alabama native ended the season with six top-five finishes and ranked 18th in the final standings. Wallace, now on a two-year winless streak, last celebrated a victory at Kansas Speedway in October 2022.
The season finale at Phoenix Raceway also brought difficulties for Wallace’s team, as his crew chief Bootie Barker and spotter Freddie Kraft were suspended due to an incident at Martinsville. During the final laps of the Martinsville race, Wallace appeared to slow down, allowing Toyota teammate Christopher Bell to pass, securing Bell’s spot in the Championship 4. However, Bell was later penalized for a safety violation, which ultimately allowed William Byron to take his place in the championship battle.
In the Phoenix championship race, Wallace’s teammate Tyler Reddick competed as one of the final four title contenders, finishing fourth among them.
