NASCAR has officially announced a partnership with Cook Out for the 2025 Cup Series event at Bowman Gray Stadium. Set to take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, the event will be called the Cook Out Clash. The weekend will feature two major events: the Cook Out Clash and the Cook Out Madhouse Classic.
Bowman Gray Stadium, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is widely regarded as NASCAR’s longest-running weekly racetrack. Since its opening in 1939, it has become an integral part of the local community and culture. In addition to motorsports, the stadium has been home to the Winston-Salem State University Rams football team and, historically, the Wake Forest University football team. Over the years, Bowman Gray has gained recognition as a notable venue for motorsport events. The 2025 Cup Series race will mark NASCAR’s first return to Bowman Gray Stadium since 1971.
The racing weekend will begin on Saturday, February 1, with the Cook Out Madhouse Classic. This exclusive, invitation-only race will feature stars from the Modified Division, including NASCAR Hall of Famer Bobby Labonte, who will race in the No. 18 Cook Out Modified. The main event, the Cook Out Clash, will take place on Sunday and will be the first time in decades that a prestigious NASCAR Cup Series race is hosted at Bowman Gray Stadium, kicking off the 2025 NASCAR season.
Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s Executive Vice President and Chief Venue and Racing Innovation Officer, shared his excitement in a press release: “It is incredible to have Cook Out as part of this historic weekend at Bowman Gray Stadium. Their support takes it to the next level, and we look forward to working with them to make it a weekend that fans will never forget.”
The partnership with NASCAR holds significant meaning for Cook Out, a fast-food chain founded in Winston-Salem in 1989. Since then, Cook Out has expanded to 340 locations across ten states. The company has a long history of involvement in NASCAR, having sponsored events at renowned tracks such as Martinsville Speedway and Richmond Raceway and supported the NASCAR Youth Series. Jeremy Reaves, co-owner of Cook Out, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “Cook Out loves Winston-Salem and loves racing. We’re looking forward to bringing together our racing family and the Winston-Salem community this year with the Cook Out Clash and the Cook Out Madhouse Classic.”
