In 2023, William Byron dominated the NASCAR Cup Series with six wins. A year later, his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson matched that achievement, also securing six victories to lead the series. Byron added three wins to his name in 2024, while Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman each managed a single victory.
With such consistent performance, expectations are understandably high for Hendrick Motorsports in 2025. Many expect the team to continue its dominance, with one of its cars likely leading the series in wins and contending for the championship once again.
On Friday, Fox broadcaster Larry McReynolds shared his thoughts on the upcoming season during an appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. He expressed confidence in the four-car team’s ability to find success and make multiple trips to Victory Lane. However, McReynolds also predicted a challenging season for one of the drivers.
“But I just believe when it’s all said and done, regardless of who goes to the Championship 4, regardless of who wins the championship, the most wins for a second year in a row will come from Hendrick Motorsports,” McReynolds remarked.
When co-host Alan Cavanna pressed him for specifics, asking if he had broken down the wins by driver, McReynolds declined to provide exact predictions. However, he did make a bold claim, saying, “I will say this. I bet you there’s one of them that goes winless in 2025.”
While McReynolds didn’t name any specific driver, the prediction naturally raises questions about who might face such a struggle. Considering the team’s performance over the last two seasons, Elliott or Bowman appear to be the most likely candidates. Both drivers managed just one win in 2024 and went without a victory entirely in 2023.
As the new season approaches, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if Hendrick Motorsports can maintain its winning tradition—and which driver, if any, might fall short of Victory Lane.
