Kurt Busch, a celebrated NASCAR champion, is taking a step back from racing to focus on his personal life. Since retiring from full-time competition in 2023, the accomplished driver—known for his 34 career victories, the 2004 Cup Series Championship, and a win at the 2017 Daytona 500—has been enjoying some memorable moments off the track. Recently, he visited Disneyland with his girlfriend, marking his first trip back since he was 12 years old. Busch shared the experience with his followers on X, posting photos and videos with the caption: “Warning! Here comes my Disneyland photo dump. I haven’t been here since I was 12 years old. Thanks @Disneyland, we had a blast!”
In addition to his Disneyland visit, Busch and his girlfriend also attended an NFL game at the Bank of America Stadium, where they watched the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Carolina Panthers. They were later seen supporting Busch’s brother, Kyle, at a USAC Midget Series race in Ventura, California. Fans responded enthusiastically to his updates, with one writing, “Looks like you two had lots of fun! Merry Christmas!” Another joked about the surreal chance of spotting Busch at Disneyland, saying, “Imagine going to Cars Land and seeing Kurt Busch—I’d lose it!”
Though he has stepped away from the sport that defined much of his career, Busch remains connected to NASCAR through his role as a motorsport consultant for 23XI Racing, co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin.
However, 2023 also brought challenges for Busch. Earlier in the year, he was arrested for driving under the influence, with a blood-alcohol level of 0.17%—more than twice the legal limit in North Carolina. Busch issued a statement taking full responsibility for his actions, saying, “I deeply regret my recent DWI arrest. I voluntarily completed a pre-trial assessment and followed all recommendations ahead of my court date. I am committed to ensuring this never happens again and returning to racing with a renewed focus.”
He also apologized to his family, fans, and the NASCAR community, pledging to work with authorities to make his local community safer. Busch faced a 60-day suspended sentence, 12 months of unsupervised probation, and had his driver’s license revoked as a result. Despite this setback, Busch remains determined to move forward and maintain his positive impact on the sport.
