SS-GreenLight Racing has announced Garrett Smithley as the full-time driver for the No. 14 Chevrolet Camaro in the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. This marks Smithley’s return to a full-time racing schedule for the first time since 2019. Smithley is no stranger to the team, having previously raced for SS-GreenLight Racing in 11 events, including a top-10 finish at Talladega in 2020.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Smithley shared with TobyChristie.com:
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be a full-time driver at SS-GreenLight Racing. I haven’t raced full-time since 2019, so I’m beyond excited to work with Bobby and Jason Miller. Daytona can’t come soon enough!”
The partnership brings renewed energy for Smithley’s longtime sponsor, Trophy Tractor, which will serve as the team’s primary partner for the 2025 season. Team owner Bobby Dotter voiced confidence in Smithley’s abilities, saying:
“We’re thrilled to have Garrett back. His experience will be key to our success in 2025. Garrett has done an outstanding job for us in the past, and we’re eager to build on that foundation.”
Adding to the team’s strength is veteran crew chief Jason Miller, who will guide Smithley through the season. Despite a brief suspension following an altercation at Atlanta in 2024, Miller’s leadership remains essential to the team’s goals.
SS-GreenLight Racing, led by Dotter, has steadily grown since its formation in 2008 from a merger between SS Racing and Green Light Racing. Smithley brings a wealth of experience to the team, with 180 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, including one top-five and five top-10 finishes.
The team’s competitive edge is further enhanced by technical alliances with established organizations such as Richard Childress Racing and Kaulig Racing. These collaborations position SS-GreenLight Racing for continued growth and success.
