Jeffrey Earnhardt will continue his part-time stint with Sam Hunt Racing in 2025, maintaining his presence in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The grandson of legendary driver Dale Earnhardt and son of Kerry Earnhardt has made an impact in limited opportunities, competing in six Xfinity races and one Truck Series event last season.
On Monday, Sam Hunt Racing confirmed that the 35-year-old will once again drive for the No. 24 team in multiple races throughout the upcoming season. While his full schedule has yet to be determined, Earnhardt’s first race will take place at Talladega Superspeedway with sponsorship from ForeverLawn.

Expressing enthusiasm for the continued partnership, SHR owner Sam Hunt highlighted Earnhardt’s positive influence on the team. “I couldn’t be more excited to continue our relationship with Jeffrey and the ForeverLawn family throughout 2025,” Hunt stated, as reported by Frontstretch’s Kevin Rutherford. He praised Earnhardt for his teamwork and dedication to SHR’s development, emphasizing that the driver has become like family to the organization. Hunt also expressed confidence in Earnhardt’s ability to perform in the team’s Toyota GR Supras, ensuring they will provide him with the necessary resources to compete at a high level.
Earnhardt’s strongest showing of the 2024 season came in February at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where he secured an eighth-place finish. However, his other appearances with SHR’s No. 26 car saw him finish outside the top 20 in five races.
Earnhardt will share the No. 24 ride in 2025 with another well-known name in NASCAR—Ryan Truex, the younger brother of 2017 Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr. Truex is set to kick off the Xfinity Series season for SHR, driving the No. 24 car at Daytona International Speedway this Saturday.
Additionally, Sam Hunt Racing has expanded its driver lineup for 2025. Dean Thompson is set to compete full-time in the No. 26 car after a two-race stint with the team last year. In a statement last month, Thompson expressed excitement about the opportunity, noting how quickly he felt comfortable with the SHR team. He emphasized that their partnership aligns well with his goals, as both driver and team aim for growth in the sport.
As for Earnhardt, his first race of the season won’t come until April 26, when he makes his 2025 debut in the 11th race of the Xfinity Series schedule.
