Bubba Wallace recently shared an update on his mental health and preparations for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. The 23XI Racing driver, who has been candid about his mental health struggles in the past, expressed his commitment to leaving behind the challenges of the previous two years. Wallace aims to enter the upcoming season with a renewed focus on his well-being, ready to tackle the year with energy and determination.
As part of 23XI Racing, a team co-founded by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, Wallace has faced personal and professional challenges, including the pressure to perform at a high level. His mental health journey has been complicated by incidents like the widely publicized discovery of a noose in his garage, which added to the weight of his struggles.
In his recent post, Wallace emphasized the importance of prioritizing both mental and physical health. He has shifted his mindset from just trying to “get by” to actively committing to healthier habits, including better nutrition, exercise, and overall self-care. Wallace shared his excitement for the new season and his ongoing dedication to improving himself. He wrote, “Last night of the off season. Pre-season work starts tomorrow, kicking it off with a fun trip to see the [Columbia] fam! Excited for this season to get underway. Took it upon myself to be better and do better.”
Acknowledging the challenges of the past two seasons, he said, “Got my ass kicked the last 2 seasons, plain and simple. No shame in saying that. Using it as motivation.” Wallace also revealed how he’s been focused on physical and mental well-being, saying he’s been eating right, working out, and feeling mentally stronger than ever. He added, “The last 3 months have been the best ever. The mentals are at an all-time high!! Couldn’t be happier!”
Encouraging others who may be struggling with their own journeys, Wallace offered words of motivation: “To my people struggling to get started on a new journey… What’s 30 minutes to walk, run, or ride the peloton? 30 minutes. The self gratitude after is so worth it.” He concluded with a call for perseverance, saying, “2025 is gonna be a grind. Time to roll up the sleeves, grab a glove, and get in the game!”
