BREAKING: Kurt Busch, NASCAR Driver, Arrested on Suspicion of Driving Under the Influence (DUI)”

Kurt Busch, the former NASCAR Cup champion, was arrested in Iredell County, North Carolina, shortly before midnight on Monday. The 34-time race winner was initially pulled over for allegedly speeding (63 mph in a 45 mph zone) when he was pulled over.

During the traffic stop, Busch was breathalyzed, revealing a blood alcohol level of 0.17%, nearly double the 0.08% limit in North Carolina. In addition to spending three hours in jail and having his driver’s license suspended for thirty days, he was charged with drink driving, dangerous driving and reckless driving. Busch has given written assurances that he will appear in court again in September.

Busch raced with Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota throughout his career, competing against such famous teams as Penske, Roush, Furniture Row, Chip Ganassi and Stewart-Haas. He won the 2017 Daytona 500 and the 2004 Nextel NASCAR Cup Series Busch retired in 2022 after a career-ending crash at Pocono Raceway.

He was racing for the 23XI team, owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan, at the time of his accident. He still represents the team as an ambassador. In addition to his NASCAR career, Busch pursued other pursuits in motorsports. He competed in the 2008 Daytona 24 Hours with Penske and placed sixth with Andretti Autosport in the Indianapolis 500.

Busch has already been the subject of a lawsuit. His ex-girlfriend accused him of domestic violence in early 2015. Busch allegedly slammed the woman’s head into a wall. After learning of the incident, he was suspended indefinitely by NASCAR and had to miss the first three races of the season. Busch’s eligibility was reinstated by NASCAR and his team upon his return to the series after all criminal charges were dropped.

A Delaware court ruled that he “probably” assaulted his ex. Busch has not released details about his arrest to the public. Although it is difficult to determine Busch’s exact wealth, it is clear that he is a multi-millionaire. He could easily call an Uber to pick him up from his place and take him home. It was a really stupid decision by a guy who has all the means at his disposal to avoid finding himself in such a situation. You should not drive after drinking.
