Amy Earnhardt Shares Concerning Health Update on Dale Jr.: ‘He’s Been Fighting a Pretty Bad Fever'”

Amy Earnhardt recently provided a health update on her husband, Dale Earnhardt Jr., mentioning that he has been dealing with a recurring fever for the past two days. During the third episode of her new podcast, Bless Your Hardt on Dirty Mo Media, Amy was asked if Dale Jr. had recovered from his illness.

“He’s still feeling unwell,” she shared. “He’s had a pretty bad fever on and off for the last couple of days. So, he’s been staying in the guest bedroom to keep me from catching it. I feel like I have a bit of a head cold, but nothing as bad as what he’s dealing with.”

Amy also noted that Dale Jr. usually becomes quite needy when he’s sick, often seeking help for even simple things. However, this time, he hasn’t been as dramatic as usual. “He’s typically mopey and says, ‘I need you to help me. I can’t think for myself when I’m sick.’ But he hasn’t been as fussy this time. I’ve been making sure he takes plenty of vitamins,” she added.

Married since 2016, Dale Jr. and Amy have two daughters, Isla and Nicole. Amy humorously pointed out that her husband tends to act even worse than their children when he’s unwell. “You know how most men exaggerate when they’re sick? He’s worse than the kids,” she joked. Dale Jr. himself admitted it, saying, “If this is how the girls felt, they surely didn’t feel this bad, because they weren’t acting like they did.”

Since retiring from full-time racing in 2018, Dale Jr. has been a broadcaster and is set to join Amazon and TNT for the NASCAR Cup Series under a multi-year contract. He also plans to participate in several zMAX CARS Tour races this year while continuing to manage JR Motorsports.

During the podcast, Amy also discussed her fitness routine, explaining that she prefers hot yoga over cold plunges. “I like sweating. When I sweat and work out, I feel my best. Sometimes, I go into the sauna and do my own little workout,” she said. While she hasn’t convinced Dale Jr. to try hot yoga yet, she believes he could handle it well. “It’s not as intense as the core workout I made him do, and since he’s used to the heat from racing, it probably wouldn’t bother him.”

The couple first met in the late 2000s when Amy was hired to design Dale Jr.’s Florida home. They later launched High Rock Vodka in 2022, expanding their ventures beyond motorsports.
