23XI Racing, Front Row release big statement after granted injunction

23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports will operate as chartered teams in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. This development follows a significant legal victory on Wednesday when both teams were granted a preliminary injunction allowing them to sign charter agreements while continuing their antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR.

The decision ensures that 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports will not be forced to compete as open entries. After the ruling, the two organizations, along with attorney Jeffrey Kessler, issued a joint statement expressing their satisfaction with the outcome.

“We welcome today’s decision by Judge Bell granting a preliminary injunction in our favor,” the statement read. “The court’s ruling allows 23XI and Front Row Motorsports to race existing cars as chartered teams in next year’s Cup Series. The decision also requires NASCAR to approve both teams’ purchases of a third charter from Stewart-Haas Racing and permits these cars to compete as chartered teams in 2025. We are confident in the strength of our case and will continue to fight for a more competitive and fair sport that benefits teams, drivers, sponsors, and, most importantly, our fans.”

Initially, the two organizations were denied the injunction but appealed the decision under a new judge, who ultimately ruled in their favor. This ruling is a crucial step in their plans for the upcoming season, allowing them to finalize the acquisition of charters from Stewart-Haas Racing. However, NASCAR may still have the option to appeal.
