The 40th Annual Tulsa Shootout wrapped up Saturday night with six coveted Golden Driller trophies awarded in what is considered the biggest event of the year for Micro Sprints.
Brent Crews, the 2024 CARS Tour Rookie of the Year, opened the night by securing his first Tulsa Shootout victory, winning the 30-lap Stock Non-Wing feature in his fourth appearance at the event. Following that, Brexton Busch — son of NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Busch — led every lap of the 20-lap Junior Sprint A-Main to earn his first Golden Driller after four attempts in the division.
Kyle Larson added two more Golden Drillers to his collection with a dominant performance in the Winged Outlaw and Winged A-Class races. These marked his first Micro Sprint victories at the Tulsa Shootout, bringing his total to five Golden Drillers, including previous wins at the Chili Bowl and Outlaw Kart divisions.
The night saw another young driver make history as 14-year-old Haidyn Hansen from North Platte, Nebraska, claimed victory in the 25-lap Restricted A-Main. Hansen became the fourth female driver to win in that division, joining Dahnelynn McKay, Kaylee Bryson, and Jade Avedisian.
The evening concluded with an intense battle in the 55-lap Non-Wing Outlaw main event. Oklahoma native Christopher Bell held off a late surge from Larson to secure his own Golden Driller in what was one of the most thrilling races in Tulsa Shootout history.
Additionally, six drivers were disqualified for tire doping, adding a layer of controversy to the event. Full results from all six A-Main features are available below.
