The 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals, set for January 13-18 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, promises an exciting week of racing at the Tulsa Expo Raceway. The event will bring together hundreds of drivers vying for the prestigious Golden Driller Trophy, an iconic symbol in Midget racing. With 300-400 drivers typically competing, the format involves five nights of preliminary races, each focused on earning passing points to secure a good starting position for the A-Main feature.
During the week, competitors will participate in heat races, qualifying races, C-Mains, B-Mains, and a 30-lap A-Main each night. The goal is to earn maximum passing points, which are used to determine starting positions for the A-Main. The top 40 drivers from the heat races advance to qualifying races, with others placed in C-Mains. In the C-Main, the top four finishers proceed to the B-Main, where the top four finishers then qualify for the A-Main. Drivers who finish in the top 16 based on combined passing points from their heat and qualifying races will move directly into the A-Main.
On Saturday, drivers compete through a series of “alphabet soup” races, with the goal of making it into the 40-lap A-Main event. This process begins with P-Main or O-Main races, followed by two B-Mains, where the top seven finishers from each B-Main join the A-Main, forming the 24-car field. The lineup for the A-Main is set by the Chili Bowl Pole Dash, where the top 10 cars are seeded based on their performance in earlier races.
All the action from the event will be streamed live on FloRacing and the FloSports app, with replays and updates available throughout the week. This year’s Chili Bowl Nationals promises to be an electrifying event, showcasing top-tier dirt track racing talent as competitors fight for the coveted Golden Driller Trophy.
