UFC Rumors: Conor McGregor Faces Investigation as Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta Triggered After Bukayo Saka ‘Sparring’ Video

Conor McGregor has found himself at the center of yet another controversy after an incident involving Arsenal footballer Bukayo Saka. During a visit to Arsenal’s stadium as a VIP guest, McGregor was seen sparring with Saka on the field after a game. The Irish UFC fighter, known for his brash persona, started play-fighting with Saka, throwing kicks and punches in what seemed to be an informal and playful exchange. However, the club and manager Mikel Arteta were not amused by the unsanctioned interaction.

McGregor’s actions have raised concerns within Arsenal, especially considering the physical risks involved. Saka, one of the team’s key players, could have been seriously injured, and with several players already sidelined due to injuries, including captain Martin Ødegaard, the club can ill afford further setbacks. As a result, Arsenal has launched an internal investigation and is reevaluating its matchday protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future. The club is reportedly embarrassed by how McGregor was allowed onto the pitch and interact with the players without any immediate intervention by security.

McGregor had been watching the game from a hospitality box and followed Saka and fellow teammate Declan Rice onto the field after the match. Despite eventually being asked to leave the pitch, the incident has prompted Arsenal to consider stricter security measures, including limiting player interaction with celebrity guests post-match.

This isn’t the first time McGregor has courted controversy. The UFC fighter has a history of public incidents, including a 2019 assault conviction for punching a man in a pub, and a 2023 altercation involving a mascot during an NBA game. His controversial behavior, combined with Arsenal’s unease about associating with his brand, has led the club to reconsider its policies regarding celebrity guests.

For Arsenal, ensuring the safety of their players is a top priority, and the incident has highlighted the need for more controlled environments when hosting high-profile guests like McGregor. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains to be seen whether the UFC fighter will face any further consequences, or if he will be banned from attending future Arsenal matches.
