Trackhouse Racing, a team that made its debut in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2020, has always embraced diversity, with a global flair from the start. Co-owned by Justin Marks and Ty Norris, the team gained attention when American rapper Pitbull sponsored them, and Mexican driver Daniel Suarez gave them their first win in the 2022 Sonoma race.
For the 2025 season, Trackhouse is making waves once again, adding a remarkable name to its roster. Brazilian racing legend Helio Castroneves, a four-time Indy 500 champion, will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut with Trackhouse. Castroneves will race under the team’s Project 91 initiative and aim to qualify for the prestigious Daytona 500.
Trackhouse has been at the forefront of NASCAR’s global expansion. The team’s Project 91 program, aimed at bringing international talent to the Cup Series, already includes names like Daniel Suarez from Mexico, Ross Chastain from the U.S., and Shane van Gisbergen from New Zealand, who will race full-time in 2025. Castroneves’ addition will make Trackhouse the first team to have four drivers from different countries, adding to the team’s growing international presence.
Castroneves brings a wealth of experience to the Daytona 500. Though this will be his first attempt at the race, he has previously competed at Daytona in the Rolex 24 and the IROC Series, with a best finish of 6th place. His expertise on the superspeedway will serve him well as he joins Trackhouse Racing, and he has expressed his eagerness to learn and prepare for this new challenge. With the support of his veteran crew chief Darian Grubb and Trackhouse’s seasoned team, Castroneves is hoping to make an impact in his NASCAR debut.
As the 2025 Daytona 500 approaches on February 16th, all eyes will be on Trackhouse Racing as it kicks off its season with a truly global lineup.
