Rob Gronkowski to Make Ocean Helicopter Jump for Fox’s ‘NFL Sunday’

In a bold Veterans Day tribute, Fox NFL analyst Rob Gronkowski will make a thrilling jump from an MH-60s helicopter into the Pacific Ocean, all captured live during “NFL Sunday” at Naval Base San Diego on November 10. This daring plunge adds a fresh twist to Fox’s longstanding tradition of honoring U.S. military service members through its pregame programming, a tradition that viewers have come to expect each year.

Airing at 11:00 a.m. ET, the two-hour special promises an action-packed broadcast, with Gronkowski’s adrenaline-fueled jump as its centerpiece. The entire “NFL Sunday” cast, including Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Jimmy Johnson, and Jay Glazer, will be on-site to pay tribute to the nation’s heroes. This unique event at Naval Base San Diego underscores Fox’s dedication to recognizing those in uniform, a mission the network’s CEO, Eric Shanks, describes as a yearly commitment to honoring military personnel around the world.

This latest adventure continues Gronkowski’s track record of unforgettable on-air moments, with last year’s Veterans Day skydiving feat from 11,000 feet over the Air Force Academy being a memorable highlight. Known for his love of high-octane stunts, Gronkowski also recently participated in FanDuel’s “Kick of Destiny” during the Super Bowl, keeping fans entertained with his wild and unpredictable spirit. This year’s ocean jump builds on that reputation, adding yet another impressive milestone to his resume.

Alongside Gronkowski’s jump, the broadcast will feature other exclusive segments that bring viewers closer to the military experience. A highlight will be Tom Rinaldi’s story on a former Navy SEAL now working in the NFL, as well as a visit to the iconic I-Bar, made famous in the movie “Top Gun: Maverick.” In a nod to the strength and discipline of Navy SEALs, the Fox cast will even undergo SEAL training exercises, giving viewers an inside look at the rigorous life of these elite forces.

Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander of Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, spoke to the significance of the event, honoring veterans and their families while also inspiring the next generation of servicemembers. The broadcast will serve as a meaningful reminder of the dedication and sacrifice that veterans bring to the nation.

As the countdown to Week 10 of the NFL season begins, this special tribute will lead directly into Fox’s Sunday lineup, which includes a highly anticipated clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
