NASCAR Cup Series: One driver change confirmed for Daytona race

Two of the 36  cars featured have  split from a  driver rotation  during the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series  season One of those two cars is  expected to have a different driver for  Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400  . Daytona International Speedway  and also last Monday’s rain-delayed FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International  Speedway.

Cody Ware is  expected to return for a second straight  run at No. 15 Rick Ware Racing Ford, marking  its sixth appearance of the season, but the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet is  expected to have a different  driver. > > >Shane van Gisbergen will make his fifth Cup Series start of the  season for Matt Kaulig’s team, the team for the who competes full-time in the Xfinity Series, driving the Chevrolet No. 1. 16. His last Cup Series start was in the first race of July  at the Chicago road circuit.

Van Gisbergen is one of five drivers driving the no. 16  at one point this season. The other four include his two regular Xfinity Series teammates, AJ Allmendinger and Josh Williams, as well as Ty Dillon and Derek Kraus.As for the no. car until this year. The other two cars are Kaz Grala, who has competed in most of the races, and Riley Herbst.
There are also four non-chartered cars on the entry list for the 160-lap race. 4,023 kilometers of this Saturday -turn oval in Daytona Beach, Florida, making this race only the quarter of the year where the  limit of 40 cars must be reached.

Richard Childress Racing is expected to field a third car, the No. 1 Chevrolet. 1. 33, for Austin Hill, while part-time teams NY Racing Team, Beard Motorsports and Live Fast Motorsports are all expected to return, respectively grabbing the No. 3 Chevrolets. 44  for Joey Gase, Chevrolet no. 62  for Parker Retzlaff and Chevrolet no. 78  for B.J. McLeod.
