As fans, we don’t just follow games we follow everything. The wins, the drama, and yes, even who’s dropping DM lines.
Now, Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe is allegedly shooting his shot at WWE star Tiffany Stratton. The streets (aka X) are saying he dropped a bold “check your DMs” under one of her posts and boom, the internet exploded.
Baseball Twitter is on fire. People are already pairing them up like it’s a crossover episode of MLB x WrestleMania.
But here’s the plot twist:
It. Never. Happened.
The comment wasn’t even from Volpe. It was from WWE’s Ludwig Kaiser the guy rumored to actually be dating Stratton. Someone edited the name, and a parody account ran with it. And just like that, Volpe got dragged into WWE drama he didn’t even start.
So the question is…
Did people fall for it because they want Volpe to be that guy? Or because Yankees fans are just hungry for something extra spicy this season?
Either way… it worked.
