Dolphins Dive into the Draft Pool

The Miami Dolphins are gearing up for the upcoming NFL draft, seeking to bolster their roster after a disappointing 8-9 season. Head coach Mike McDaniel is focused on adding playmakers to support quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, particularly on offense. The Dolphins have four offensive picks: Miles Frazier, an LSU OL with experience at multiple positions; Chase Lundt, a UConn OT with size and movement; Jackson Hawes, a Georgia Tech TE with blocking skills; and Raheim Sanders, a South Carolina RB with a strong rushing and receiving game.

On defense, the Dolphins have six picks, aiming to strengthen their unit, which struggled with sacks (35th lowest) and interceptions (23rd) last season. Their top defensive picks include Jahdae Barron, a Texas CB with eight interceptions and 23 defended passes; Alfred Collins, a Texas DT with seven sacks and 11 defended passes; and Jonas Sanker, a Virginia safety with two interceptions and 17 defended passes.

The Dolphins have also added safeties Ashtyn Davis and Ifeatu Melifonwu in free agency, and they’re looking to build on that momentum. Other notable picks include Rylie Mills, a Notre Dame IDL with 17 sacks; Jah Joyner, a Minnesota DE with 14.5 sacks; and Teddye Buchanan, a California LB with five sacks and 114 tackles.

McDaniel’s strategy is to build a well-rounded team with a mix of talent and potential. The Dolphins’ front office is preparing for the draft, and the upcoming weekend will be crucial in shaping the team’s future. With 10 picks, the Dolphins have opportunities to address their needs and build a stronger roster for the upcoming season.

The team’s draft strategy reflects their commitment to improving both offense and defense. By targeting players with specific skills and potential, the Dolphins aim to create a more balanced and competitive team. As the draft approaches, the team’s focus will be on making strategic picks that enhance their roster and set them up for success in the coming season.

The Dolphins’ offseason moves and draft strategy will be closely watched, and it remains to be seen how their roster will take shape. With McDaniel at the helm, the team is looking to make a positive impact and improve their performance in the upcoming season.
